The collection you’re seeing is called Bright Wood’s Collection by Giancarlo Zema and are currently on display at the Design in Nature exhibition in the Triennale Design Museum as part of the Milan Furniture Fair.

This uber collection was discovered at Milan Design Week, and we felt in love with the unique aesthetic that’s equal parts alien nation and woodland tranquility. These radiant pieces, made from wood and natural resin strips offer a vision of futuristic style as they glow in the dark.

Hangzhou Sports Park – China

Great designs and awesome concepts are born every day and in all the corners of the world. So one would say that with a big population it’s impossible not to see new concepts and proposals. The park that you will see in the following images is the “baby” of two prestigious architecture bureaus and the main attraction of the park as you can see in the first picture we provided will be the stadium, which is in fact the biggest to be build in the next 10 years in China.

NBBJ with CCDI, have created the Hangzhou Sports Park: A vibrant, pedestrian-centric sports and recreation development located in the midst of Hangzhou’s new urban environment. Situated on the Qian Tang riverfront opposite of the new Central Business District, and encompassing a site of approximately 400,000 square meters, the sports park is seen as an opportunity for creating picturesque and sustainable public spaces that are often elusive in the newly constructed urbanism of China. This new place making will be accomplished while intelligently balancing the long-term commercial viability of the sports development.

Rich Free Photoshop Brushes Collection

The Web Designers section of the website was a little bit neglected, so here is a resource for the Photoshop savvy, because sooner or later you will need new brushes and although you can create them yourselves, finding some pre-made is always better and less time consuming. So without further ado, as the author of the free photoshop brushes collection says:

Every good designer needs an arsenal of brushes to use within Photoshop, whether its a grunge effect or some tehno swirls that are required there is sure to be a brush that fits your needs. Here we have dugg out the very best we could find. If there isn’t a suitable brush, we have also included some links on how to create your own.

It’s been a while since we really seen something truly utopian here at Archtopia. So this post might please your curious side of the brain since the concept behind this facade is a neat and “alive” one. The design is created by architect Giselbrecht + Partner ZT GmbH and the amazing project is called “Dynamic Facade” better known as the Kiefer Technic Showroom in Bad Gleichenberg, Austria. The following images can give you a more clear vision upon what the modern architecture can and will do.

The project is now completed, the photos by Iwan Baan and a complete set of drawings and diagrams courtesy of REX.

Despite the mix of the existing concrete structure with the new additions and the complex inner core (dubbed the “showcase”), the exterior of the building is read as a whole. The structural “X” of the glass panels on the facade break the monotony of the box on the outside, contrasting with the mirror like finish of the volume on top.
