Concept and proposal for the project – Winning Project

Icube - Final Render
You might have seen this only on CSI, and yes there is one like that in Romania, Cluj Napoca too.
Matrix, Avalon, Star Trek – Holodeck, Nautilus, Data are a few names borrowed from the movies and books of Science Fiction. These are also a couple of names for the most revolutionary romanian research project in psychology. Officially, the Matrix Platform, a platform for diagnostic, therapy and research in virtual reality was opened on 9th of February 2010.
We have a couple of details from VoxPublica since they’ve already got to see the testing of the new “toy”. [I will visit the VR cube in the next couple of weeks and I'll bring you updates on the project, until then I will share with you VoxPublica's impressions on the matter]
Everchanging Wall Coverings?

Change It!
Ok, ok!!! This is not exactly something you would call a wall covering, I know. But still… This amazing concept was designed by the incomparable Amirko, and it’s real name is “Change It!” Ohh scoop it! It’s one big wall of turn-triangles. Each of these triangles has different colors on them – white – black – and a slightly unique rainbow shade. As you can see in the first picture here, when the color is on full blast, it makes a mural all it’s own.
What combination of madness can be made? Let the sky be the limit!

Change It! - Black
For now it’s the colors as explained above. In the future it might have any number of different choices for the sides – lights, materials, typography, body parts, animal fur, whatever you can imagine!
Designer: Amirko aka Amirkhan Abdurakhmanov
Qatar National Convention Center Aims at LEED Gold

Qatar National Convention Center
When a lot of us think about convention centers, we think of big empty spaces that are certainly not exactly friendly to the surrounding. That’s not the case for the next generation of convention centers — case in point, the very cool looking Qatar National Convention Center designed by Yamasaki Architects.

Qatar National Convention Center more
The amazing 177,000 square meter structure is seeking a LEED Gold Rating, a first for a building of its type in the region. When it’s completed next year the center will boast 3,700 square meters of solar panels in addition to a host of other resource-saving applications.

Slit House | Minimalist House Design Framed by Concrete

Slit House - House of Concrete
Creative design, simple lines and sharp lines all draw out of concrete is best describing this house-object.
Slit House is located in the historical neighborhood of Nanjing, China.

Slit House - Site View
Although has very contemporary minimalist look it’s in harmony with surroundings. The entire structure, facade and the roof are made of concrete. It’s one of the first concrete buildings in this area. Thanks to such exterior it looks minimalist and modern outside. The interior is mostly done in wood to be more comfortable to live in. There are two connected areas with half floor height difference.

Slit House - Corner and Yard
The living area has 2 floor ceiling height while the dining area has only 1.5 floor ceiling height. There aren’t many openings around the house in order to maintain its privacy.
