Apartment Design by Christopher Colman

Christopher Coleman - apartment design
Christopher Colman is an architect from Brooklyn, New York. He characterizes his style as “eclectic, colorful and modern. He is noted for his use of industrial and slick materials which create dazzling textural interest.” Now that you know a little about the designer, here is some of his work that got him the up-mentioned prestige. The pictures below are taken in an apartment located in Manhattan. The overall feeling is that of purity and space. Glass is a predominant item, which makes the place look very “shiny” and alive. Notice how the colors really freshen up the crib and check out how tastefully they are chosen. – via 1 and 2

Amphibious Pavilion For 2012 World Expo That Can Sail Away | Fluid

Amphibian Pavilion
Fluid, one of the most eye-catching designs for the much-anticipated 2012 World Expo in Yeosu, South Korea, is a whale-like pavilion designed by Melbourne-based Peddle Thorpe Architects (PTA). Their organic floating exhibition space is designed around the concept of adaptability, making the structure useful for many scenarios, even long after the World Expo has concluded. With it’s environmentally aware design, Fluid has a minimal impact on the surrounding coastal ecosystem and has another extremely cool feature – after it’s duties in Yeosu are complete, the whole building can unlatch from its site and be sailed to other cities as a giant, amphibious floating exhibition!

Two Courtyards House with Modern Interior

two courtyards house and modern interior
When it comes to open plans and great indoor and outdoor connection, houses built around central courtyard are quite common. This house for a couple and two their daughters in Guadalajara, Mexico is one of those houses, which also has other adjacent courtyard and beautiful terrace. There are three levels in it. A basement level includes a garage, services and a game room and stairway which connects the whole house. On the ground floor the kitchen, dinging room and family room are located. All these areas surround the central courtyard. Three bedrooms are located on the third level but they still have great relationship with outdoor areas through the terrace. The interior design is done in modern contemporary style. Colors and shapes chose not only to be stylish but also cosy and practical. [Casa N by Agraz Arquitectos]
