Slit House is located in the historical neighborhood of Nanjing, China.

Although has very contemporary minimalist look it’s in harmony with surroundings. The entire structure, facade and the roof are made of concrete. It’s one of the first concrete buildings in this area. Thanks to such exterior it looks minimalist and modern outside. The interior is mostly done in wood to be more comfortable to live in. There are two connected areas with half floor height difference.

The living area has 2 floor ceiling height while the dining area has only 1.5 floor ceiling height. There aren’t many openings around the house in order to maintain its privacy.
Small House with Concrete Base and Modern Design
This small house, Baltazar Residence, is one of those houses which is located on small lot but thanks to great design use everything it could provide. It accommodates a growing family and takes advantage of the beautiful ocean views. The house has concerete base that rices of the ground with a minimal amount of openings until the second story. Starting from the second store it has a steel frame with a glass window walls that offers panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. He wanted to live in open space without division between his private and professional lives. The house has modern design and mostly made of cooper and concrete. Using of cooper in house building become more and more popular lately. The house has highly sculptural architecture with different room sizes and heights depending on activities. The largest area is in the lower level where the kitchen, dining and living rooms are situated.
