The Wallpaper collection called “Shape and Form” is the work of Graham & Brown and its unicity comes in various geometric shapes which create interesting textures and sometimes a 3D feel.

The official description of the project from Graham & Brown: “We wanted to push the boundaries and create a dramatic, masculine collection that plays with perceptions conjuring optical effects to offer homeowners a dimensional alternative for decorating walls.” The wall covering designs in this collection are very diverse, therefore suited for a wide range of interiors. The color pallete ranges from dark hues to vivid and fresh ones creating a fun and lively set.

Mixing matte with gloss and metallic finishes, the wallpaper have an uncommon feel while the user will surely take a closer look in order to check out the patterns and figure out how the optical illusions form. Bathroom. What a cool place, right? You get clean in there, relax, and probably fall asleep in there too sometimes. I know a lot of people that love to spend time in their bathrooms, so this is one of the most important rooms in your house. (you can argue if you don’t agree)

Talk about funky design in furniture, huh? The crazy combination between colors and the fabulous icons definitely will make your eye pop. The uniqueness of this piece of furniture comes also from it’s shape. Four handles with a unexpected design and position come together to complete the design.

Beach Footbridge in California design by Dan Brill Architects

UK Architecture Firm Dan Brill Architects are among 12 international practices shortlisted to design a pedestrian footbridge for Trestles Beach, a surf spot in southern California. The Safe Trestles design competition, organised byArchitecture for Humanity, sought designs that give provide surfers access to the beach from the road on the bluff above, carrying them safely across a railway line while protecting the fragile dunes.

DAN BRILL ARCHITECTS SHORTLISTED AS ONLY UK PRACTICE IN INTERNATIONAL DESIGN COMPETITION

Winchester-based Dan Brill Architects are the only UK practice to have been shortlisted as one of 12 semi-finalists for the design of a pedestrian footbridge in southern California.

In January 2010 the Cologne based design agencies Grosse8 and Lichtfront presented their cross-media installation titled Augmented Sculpture. The core of the installation is a 2.5m tall wooden form that builds the screen for a 360° projection. This is how it looks like and what it does.

In constant transformation over a score by Jon Hopkins, the 2:32 minute performance is described by Svenja Kubler of Lichtfront as a “mirror of changing realities… a kind of real virtuality arises to confront virtual reality.” I’m not sure what that all means but I really like it.
